Roots and Fruits provides creative collective worship for primary schools based on Christian values and themes over a period of two years. Rooted in Bible teaching, twelve Christian values represent the fruit that grows as the teaching is lived out in everyday life.
We reflect on these values throughout our school day, especially in our whole school and class assemblies. We work hard to demonstrate the best of these values, both in and out of school.
Picture News Collective Worship resource is used weekly during in-class worship, to demonstrate the presence of a living God. Children discuss news stories in a Christian context and develop their spirituality.
By exploring the core concepts of Christianity in action children can discuss Courageous Advocacy and Respect when encountering news about social issues and others’ experiences.

British Values
Picture News packs also help us to effectively explain British Values to our pupils, as we demonstrate these values in action in the real world through news topics!
By exploring and debating topical issues, our pupils will also exercise British Values by learning to respect and tolerate the views of people around them.
